a lovely place if your interested in history ,Charlie is a dote of a man who very obviously has a big passion of old Ireland, I brought my dad of 83 yrs, he loved it and knew all of charlies wonderful 6000 items and worked with almost all of them from ploughs to bottling Guinness ,very entertaining and all questions... If you have kids who like history and farms, this is a must! Loved the bog butter, old household equipment, agricultural equipment etc. Very interesting!

Derryglad is a like a stroll down memory lane. You can relive your childhood as there is something there from everyone's house from times past. There is such a huge array of memorabilia you can pass a whole afternoon very happily in lovely surroundings. It's a brill place to visit

Staff were very nice and very helpful but this is sadly not much of a museum and I can not recommend it.

With not much to do on a three day visit to Athlone with my wife and mother in law,we decided to pay Derryglad Folk Museum a visit,what a surprise we were in for,this place is a gem,brought back so many memories of us as a family growing up. we came here on a day trip and thouroughly enjoyed our experience! the lovely man who owned the museum was so enthusiastic about the artifacts and the history that he was happy to answer all our questions and show us around! really loved derryglad and will definately be going back!!

This part of Ireland is not the most-visited but is worth checking out. The Museum is a real treat, and our host, Mr. Finneran, added much to the experience. The Derryglad Folk museum is a short trip into the countryside from the Athalone area. My wife and I diverted there as we transited from the Galway area to Dublin on the M6...and we were glad we did. Derryglad Folk Museum is located in a rural area in Co. Roscommon, Ireland. It contains plenty of Irish memorabilia items that even some Americans will be familia with.
