Spent the day on the Great Blasket... Did the hike to the highest point and had a picnic there overlooking the skelligs and walked the entire perimeter of the island. Incredible story here. I did not visit the island but was at the visitor's center on the mainland. It was a windy, rainy day and it made me think how strong the people were who lived on that island. There must have been better weather. More

We did NOT go to the Island but the visitor center is fascinating and should be one stop a person makes on the Dingle Peninsula. The Irish Heritage Card (a VERY worthwhile investment!) gets you in free. The demonstrations and exhibits are fascinating and worth the side trip. More
