Kenmare is a wonderful irish town where the locals go for the holidays. A much better place to stay than Killarney. The Heritage Center is a great place to get your bearings and to make reservations for overnight accomodations. Upon arriving in the town I was a little taken aback as it was very busy. Lots of tourists and this was what I was hoping to avoid, however, after taking the plunge I found i enjoyed myself here. “Not really an attraction or shopping opportunity”

I went in twice to get information, but I think it is strictly a tourist information center where you get maps, reservations, etc. Helpful, but not an attraction or a must see. More

“Centre was very helpful and nice”

The Kenmare Heritage Centre was our first stop because we were looking the Kenmare Lace and Design Centre. They are in the same building. The miss in the Centre was very helpful and nice. She gave us great tips on the town and pointed us in the right direction of all our attractions. More
