We were on our way from Killarney and Kenmare down to Glengariff when we stopped at Molly Gallivan's cottage, quite unexpectedly. Pure serendipity. We spent a lovely time discovering the cottage and Molly's life in rural Ireland as well as the path behind the cottage taking us back to neolithic times. When you reach the two neolithic stones, bending slightly... more

This is a fantastic place to visit - a re-enactment of an Irish/American Wake is performed for visitors after a wonderful meal of Soup, Irish Stew and Apple Pie, followed by Irish Coffee. Music, dancing and story-telling/recitations all performed by local musicians and staff - a most enjoyable night out and..............we will definately visit again next year. more

While on a business trip this past June I had the chance to visit Molly Gallivan's. From the potent Poitin and the delightful storytelling to the traditional Irish music and dance - it was a glimpse into West Cork's past. The house is restored to close to its original form when it was the gathering place for the Irish in... more

This was our first trip to Ireland and our tour guide (Enchanted Way Tours) included this delightful stop. Wonderful to see an authentic working farm that embodies the Irish way of life from long ago. Beautiful local artisan shopping. Great coffee shop with delicious homemade treats. Fabulous views from all areas of the farm. We will definitely stop here again... more

If you are in the Kenmare or Kilarney area of County Kerry, you are only a few miles from one of the most entertaining and historically interesting places in Ireland. On Tuesday nights there is a delicious three-course traditional Irish meal followed by award-winning story telling mixed with live Irish music. All five in our family rated this as the... more

Molly's was a wonderful experience! The video should not be skipped! If we'd missed that, we would've missed the "Rolls of Butter," which we wouldn't have found without the aid of a kind Irishman named Pat. After we viewed the very informative video, we toured the farm, with its mama duck and babies, a very vocal pig, plenty of chickens,... more

We visited Molly Gallivan's on a Tuesday and had reserved ahead for the American Homecoming. We all loved every minute, even my two teenagers who at first were not that enthusiastic about attending. This is a small, intimate event. There were probably about 12 people attending, and the owners and the people that participate in the reenactment were absolutely wonderful.... more

Molly's do tasty home made made food, the home made ice cream is divine. On Tuesday we attended the American wake/homecoming. Really takes one back in time to what Ireland was like almost a century ago. Great dancing, recitations, music and craic. Well worth a visit. more

The owners are fabulous. This is a little tradition irish cottage that about 80% of their items for sale are made locally in that county (the rest is what you would typically find in other gift shops). You can see how a tradition irish farm looks (it's free, with a donation if you feel inspired). Try some of the "bootlegged"... more
