Loved the place as it was all very close and original. The kids loved the crawl through mines in the museum fun and loved walking through the real mine. Lara was fantastic and we had the guide to ourselves. Great value wonderful experience

Thanks to Maxine for the wonderfully informed and hilarious trip down the mine at the peak district mining museum. We went with our grandson and we all enjoyed the informative tour and the panning for gold afterwards. There were bats, spider egg cases and evidence of the mining for all to see. Safety hats are supplied so bend low! Maxine's...

lots to see and very good value for money although it did get a bit cold as there was no heating on, we liked the thermal spring water feature outside
I visited this museum with my two teenage sons and even they enjoyed it! Very informative. Lots of displays and models. Interactive exhibits all worked. There were also 'mine shafts' to crawl through and climb. Much larger and more interesting than we had anticipated and a very reasonable price to get in. There were families visiting with much younger children...

My children learnt lots on their way round...

Great place to see some of the implements from the leadmining days. It is good for children because there are things to play with and fake tunnels to climb through. I thought this place was closing, but it seems to keep running.

The museum is small but the history of mining in the area is portrayed in pictures, artefacts and working models, all of which help to portray the arduous...

We visited the museum with children (age 6 and 8) after reading reviews on this site. The museum is interesting, but a combined visit to Temple Mine is a must if you want to get the most out of your visit. A combined family ticket is £15 and can be used again within 12 months.
Visits to the mine across...
