Just home from Exuma where we enjoyed the most wonderful week celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the National Family Island Regatta (Bahamian made sloop sailing racing). It's these unique cultural competitions that schedule our Bahamian visits...along with the fun festivals and friendly people that accompany them. But whether you are in for 'Regatta" or enjoying that ultimate 'escape to paradise'....... More

Sandpiper is a treasure trove that will delight any visitor. 3 generations of Minns family art, all very different in styles, and all beautifully unique in their representations of their lives on this beautiful island. There is something there for everyone of every gender and age group and if you are not in market for art, you will find fabulous... More

This is the most amazing little shop full of all things Caribbean and much more besides, we enjoy browsing, there is always something unusual and a treasure to be found tucked away in one of the delightful little sections. The art is vibrant and so representative of the island of Exuma. Have found many delights to buy for our friends... More

While sailing the Exumas seven years ago, we anchored in Georgetown and took delight in the local island offerings...great food, music and entertaining people. We stopped in Sandpiper and found it to be a most charming gift shop with special items that you could not find anywhere else. In particular, Diane's tile art is spectacular...Beautiful island scenes in vibrant colors.... More

I found this cute little gift shop while walking around George Town. I have previously shopped at the Straw Market which has cute little knick-knacks, but The Sandpiper takes souvenir shopping to a whole new level! So much variety, and all nice quality items. The local art and pottery is the best I've seen on the island, and the prices... More

Great selection of stuff including artwork, maps, books, etc. Nice/quality clothing for both men, women and children. Very unique gift or rememberance items. There's the straw market for the normal tshirts and straw bags, but Sandpiper is where to go for the special item you would like to bring home.

So many great things in this store...bathing suits, cover ups, bags, CDs, gifts to take home, art, baby clothes, local books and novels, sun tan lotion, glasses, men's clothing, photographs, local pottery and friendly staff! Right across from the Peace and Plenty hotel.

Diane Minns' "Sandpiper" is the greatest shop. They offer a very unique inventory which includes the Minns family's art work (drawings and potery), beautifully restored old photos of Exuma, tropical clothing, Bahamian themed gifts and even a selection of books focused on the Bahamas and its history. This is not your ordinary tourist T-shirt shop. Don't miss it.

I never leave Exuma without purchasing something from Sandpiper. Dianne has run this shop with meticulous care for many years and always has something wonderful to buy to remember your trip to Exuma by. The very talented Minns family is well represented by their art. Ceramics, painted tiles, Sailor's Valentines, paintings and more are available in the mini-gallery inside the... More
