Great, level terrain for bike rides with some cafes and photo opportunities on the route. There is a ferry but we could never quite get to the stops on time :-(

We stopped at Forggensee on our way back to Munich (from Hopfen am See) to catch an evening flight. It was a gloriously hot day and the lake was the most beautiful blue/green colour that looked as if diamonds were floating on the water. We walked a very small section of the lake but ended up simply sitting on a... More

In a few hours one can walk around the whole lake. I heard the lake only exists from June till october, then the dams will drain the water. No idea what the landscape will look like then.

It's a big lake near Schwangau. It can be reached by foot in about 15-20 minutes from the main street to Fussen. You can play canoa or else. the context is suitable for rehabilitation or to take relax

Located in the valley between the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, this is an area of stunning natural beauty, tree lined a perfect setting for a picnic or for an envigourating swim. boat trips are available for a cruise around the lake of crystal clear water.

We borrowed mountain bikes from our hotel and thoroughly enjoyed riding on paved and gravel paths around the lake. Trail is well marked, 31km in total, and changes elevation several times so you need to be in shape. There are a couple of snack/lunch cabins with outdoor seating right on the trail about halfway around the lake. They serve great... More

Our trip started at Musichall in Füssen, but there are more places to start your trip. At Musichall there are plenty of parkinglots. The Forggensee is midst the mountains, so enjoy all those beautifull panoramas. Musichall at Forggensee was built by Ludwig II, king of Bayern.
