We have been here many times, we love it, firstly if you buy a ticket it lasts all 12 months from purchase which at 45 pounds for a family of 4 its a snip. we love the history and recreation of all the areas ad every time we go there is something new like the newly opened band room, can't... More

We visited Beamish yesterday, 16th May 2013 and the weather was very kind to us. It is very easy to find and is well signposted from the A1 from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The reception building is very imposing and there was a short queue for tickets but nothing unusual for arriving just after opening time. It is easy to walk around the... More

I’ve been here a couple of times, a few when I was a teenager and once as an adult. I love it. It is a step back in time and absolute perfection. The shops and bar are stunning. The cottages and farms are so realistic. Everything just feels so real. The only downside was the wait to get in.

You can't do it all in one trip unless your fast on your feet and don't absorb your surroundings but your ticket will last for 12 months so no excuse not to come back. We love it. The kids love the school and the trams and its constantly changing with new additions in the coming months.

This is a brilliant day visit to what is effectively a re-creation of a mining village/colliery, set in the countryside on the site of an old drift mine. It captures so much of a time gone by. The list is endless: - a village street with old shops, businesses and commercial premises that you can go inside - the colliery... More

We spent a day at Beamish as part of a week-end away with Newmarket Holidays. We had a very good day there, in fact a day wasn't really long enough. If you are going for a day make sure you study the map first and go to what interests you the most, or you may find that you didn't see... More

It was my first visit and didn`t know what to expect and even though it rained for 2 hours halfway through it was fascinating...The people there all dressed in period costume and were so friendly and helpful .... it was like stepping back in time , all the shops were open and the pub the livery the old cottages ....... Brilliant day out. Staff were very good - really knew their stuff and the museum is very authentic. Loved it. Quite a long day, but your ticket is valid for a year so you can always go back for another visit. Some areas looked a little difficult to get around if you were pushing a wheelchair or a buggy. The... More

We visited previously about 10 years ago, and as expected there are some extra things to see. It's not cheap but you could spend the day here. The people who are "enactors" are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all different aspects of the Museum and there is a lot to learn. They share their jobs and move from shops to... More
