This is an authentic peek into daily Thai life and how the locals shop. The railway market is mostly food items, but very interesting to look at. As seen on various travel shows, it's fun to be there when the train comes and see everyone moving their tables in and pulling back the awnings. We were there with a guide... More

It is true that the railway market is unique, but it mainly sells dry seafood and fruits. Dont think we need that so we didnt spend too much time there. Btw many locals shop groceries there, and the price is very reasonable. Some tourists get here by taking the train. I guess they must have a different view to the... More

We started our day tour at this spot here and we reached somewhere around 9am in the morning. It is such an amazing place and it exudes an unique aura to me. Words cant describe how I felt. The goods and merchandise were basically layed just NEXT to the steel railway tracks. Vendors were friendly but watchout for many rude... More

Try to get a tour to this market if you are doing a tour to the floating market as its not far away. See how a normal market has to clear and make way for the train to pass by the market. Simply amazing!

At 1st, it just looks like a normal wet market which you can get in any part of SouthEast Asia, but the whole scene changes when the rrain is moving towards its station which is located just right at the end of the market. It's very interesting to see the locals shifting their items and the Most Amazing part is,... More

Did the tour with tongs guide daeng, a local market along the rail lines, with tents covering, its little dark inside.Tents go off as soon as the train starts arriving- goes precariously close to the vegetables underneath, a amusing scene to watch. A request is to give the local vendors business by buying some fruits, which are really cheap. That... More

We booked our tours to Maeklong Railwat Market & Tha Kha Floating Market with BKK Tours. Chao was our tour guide, and Peter, our friendly driver. We get to see the train passing and we have a walk in the market! The Thai Street Coffee at the station was GREAT! Must try! Chao take us on the train towards another... More

There is a huge market with stalls nearby (A "PasarMalam" type). You shouldn't miss it. The train was running with speed 30kph, Don't be surprise why they have enough time to prepare.

We visited the Maeklong Railway Market during our visit to Bangkok (our tour was via Tour With Tong) and I'll be honest, I didn't know what to expect about the train market and therefore wasn't too excited about seeing it but I was quickly proven wrong! The market itself is an amazing mix of sights and sounds with vendors selling... More
