I have two trips out on boats to see the Calanques. Both times, we visited in March. The waves were pretty big, but the rough ride is relatively short (10 minutes) and then it is calm in the coves. This is really a beautiful area, the water is sapphire some places. Cassis is one of my favorite places to visit,... More

We took the 1 hour, 5 Calanques boat tour and were very pleased. Be prepared for rough seas and windy weather, even if Cassis seems calm and quiet! It was definetly wind, rolling and a bit chilly on the boat. But the views were spectacular and seeing them from the seas was worth any discomfort. We were ready to return... More

I will not deny I thought the boat trip was a bit pricey for €28 per person but if you are a lover of scenery and don't suffer from motion sickness, this is worth a visit to see the beautiful calanques surrounded by aquamarine waters. If the sea is rough or if you are visiting on a windy day, the... More

The first thing I did when I got to Cassis from Marseille was take an hour and a half boat tour around the Calanques - my tour went to 8 of them and cost around 25 euros. As a budget traveler, while the cost was a little high, I would still say it was worth it. I could have probably... More

I think I paid something like 28 Euro for the tour. Visited a number of calanques without de-boating. Got bored after a while. One guy went asleep. Later discovered that you can actually access a couple of the closest calanques either by foot (20-30 minutes walk) or on a bus from the port - 1 euro. You can enjoy there... More

It was extremely windy when we took the boat trip out through the harbor and down the rugged coast called the Calanque. Beware that you can get quite wet if you are on the top deck or in some of the open areas below. I thought it was great fun but if you get seasick, don't go out on a... More

We set out to see 3 calanques and the harbour seemed quite calm. We should have looked out from the beach as it was quite choppy when we exited the harbour. The boat was tossed up and down by the swells and most passengers became very alarmed. The crew should have decided to go back and give people their money... More

I can imagine that during peak season the boat feels a little claustrophobic after 2 hours from too many people, but in October it was great to move around wherever you wanted for best viewing. They have binders available with translations of the French narrative over the PA system. Boat goes way into coves for close up viewing. Petit tour... More

You get a very unique point of view on the Calanques. You have to be careful choosing the day you go. If it is not sunny, the experience is not as good because one of the beauties of this area is the color of the water as you get close to the beach at the end of the Calanques.

Just wasn't very impressed with the boattrip to see the Calanques. If you make it a daytrip and stay to swim im sure it would be great.
