I do really agree with the other reviewers on this! Why is this cathedral not more famous and visited? We have been in cathedrals around Europe but this is really a gem! Maybe it felt very special because it really took us with a surprise. We were only visiting Beauvais for an evening, waiting for a RyanAir plane to Bologna,... More

So many people make the trek to Amiens, Rouen or Paris to see their lovely and historic cathedrals. However, what many don't realize is that en route to any of these places is Beauvais which holds one of the rare gems of Gothic architecture. When construction began in the 13th century, the notorious Bishop of Beauvais aspired to make this... More

Amazing vaulted interior and stunning clock. Absolutely recommend, followed by a visit to the town museum just across the street.

This is a very beautiful place it is in the center. Beside the cathedral there is a small cottage which you can visit. The Cathedral is peaceful and quite. There are some magazines you can get or books. It is amazing.

It's architecture is phenomenal; a historical gem well worth a visit. There are presently no pews only individual chairs for seating.

This was a surprise, we had heard we should go see it and although only there for a short stay, we ventured into town and were surprised by this cathedral, it's a very large structure for the size of the town and when we stepped inside, the height was breathtaking! There was some work going on in the Cathedral but... More

if you are interested in Gothic Cathedrals, Beauvais is a must. The unfinished cahtedral boasts the highest nave in the world. It has some old stained glass and a huge, ornate astronomical clock. We were not aware of it but at noon we were usher out because they close from 12:00 until 2:00.

although there were some building works happening, that place is majestic...and for me totally unexpected in that small city such is Beauvais

We took a day trip to Beauvais (it is between both Rouen and Chantilly) to see Europe's tallest cathedral. It did not disappoint and the astronomical clock inside is beautiful to behold. There is a great little cafe across the street to eat at and enjoy views of the cathedral.

Probably the only reason to visit Beauvais, and what a corker of a reason as well! Beautiful building both inside and out although the surrounding buildings of the town aren't very attractive. Clock is stunning!!! Definetly visit this one!
