The cave is not as big as one might expect. However, it is pretty amazing... Located between Praiano and Amalfi, the cave features an elevator that takes you to its level. Once downstairs, you enter the cave and board a small wooden boat. The sailor is a typical character who guides you for 10 minutes through the cave while mixing... More

Well worth a visit in a private boat to enjoy a swim in the emerald grotto's eerily coloured waters. Better than the crowded blue grotto in some ways - admittedly not as striking, but you don't have to share it with 30 other people and lascivious boatmen. More

i paid the 10 euros to go to this grotto, i sat on the quayside waiting for the boat to take me there, and waited and waited and waited. I smelt a rat.... so i said to my husband i`m going to the kiosk to see whats happening. The excursion was supposed to be 10.20 a.m. i got there at... More

...but look at the bright side. We went on a boat from Amalfi, the boat trip looking at the shores was very nice. But if the grotto is what you are interested in, do not go. Spend the time somewhere else. More

save your time and money - this is a rip-off organization and no attraction at all. Have you ever felt stupid for buying into something that turned out to be a scam? You will if you visit here. More

We had heard plenty about the Blue Grotto on Capri Island, but hadn't heard about the "Green Grotto" until we had arrived on the amalfi coast. I haven't been to the Blue Grotto, but judging from the reviews it must be something entirely different to the Green Grotto. To me, the water inside the cave didn't even look emerald until... More

OMG what a complete waste of time and money. My daughter of 16 pointed out the fake green lighting, and garden centre statues at the bottom. Save money by buying a paddling pool, filling with water and sittting in a wooden box with a piped recording in bad Italian English " dont forgetta the boat mans tipa...lookie, lookie... Avoid at... Oh my word, what a con. We took the Grotta dello Smeraldo "tour" from Amalfi, which is essentially a five minute boat ride to a not very big cave where a boatman rows you about in a large wooden box for about five minutes, speaking incomprehensively in English, singing O Sole Mio very badly and interjecting with "anna if you... I also wish I had read these reviews before I came here. We were charged 6 euros to sit on a boat for a couple of minutes in the dark, while the creepy boat guy splashed the water twice with his oar, sang a few bars of a song terribly, and then growled at us not to forget our boatman... More
