Super place...great beach walks. Fresh air and sand. Once down on the shore you instantly lose site of human habitation. Wonderful.

Poor Earnse Bay what a mess with all the wind turbines offshore. I always loved it on a clear day to see the Isle of Man but all you see now is blooming wind turbines

Not many places nowadays where you can wander over a few miles of sandy beaches with nothing but seagulls and Walney winds to contend with. No cafes, ice cream vans or noise. Some good views up to the Lakes if you walk right to the North End.

Just returned from three lovely days around barrow in furniss. Walney island was a real treat ! My seven year old spent most of our first day throwing some of the millions of stones into the sea, then played on the swings. Very friendly staff at the golf club slowed us to use their toilets . Second day as the... More

A great place to take the sun, when it appears, take a dip or just walk. It is regularly served by the local bus company if you do not have , or want to use a car

This beach is a favourite of ours for many reasons - its very clean, there are plenty of rockpools to search for crabs in, more than adequate parking, toilets, shop nearby, great bus links, lovely walks and best of all its free! Ideal for a fun relaxing day out with a picnic.

Ample free parking here, great safe beach for children to play on all day long. If walking is your thing why not try a walk to the north end of Walney from Earnse Bay, round trip 3 hours plus but a lovely walk with lots to see in the dunes on the way. A healthy cheap day out by an... More

This is a great free place to enjoy the sea... At the end of the beach there is a North End Nature reserve, which makes a lovely walk.
