Within easy walking distance from the town centre and our guesthouse, we saw several kinds of waterfowl and a Whimbrel. The visitor centre was open and we had a nice cup of tea and home baked cake. We asked for some information about Portland and the volunteer was most helpful about buses and places to visit, including somewhere for lunch.

Both reserves are good for birds but you can't look up and down at the same time as the dog mess is quite bad. Perhaps dogs could be banned or a least a dog bin put in.

We live close by, and regualrly take the walk around the reserve and often take binoculars and use the free hides. Bird lover or not just enjoy the walks, the info centre is also friendly and helpful.

It is a very beautifull place to visit. If you visit at the right time you will get to see lots of duck and swan nests and babys hatching. It is a very peacefull and tranquill place.

We walked over the meadows, through the nature reserve to the beach; I path through the meadows and connecting to the reserve would be nice, as opposed to muddy field. But well worth the effort, big lakes little streams and wildlife makes a lovely walk.

We enjoyed visiting the wetland area, and walked around the reserve. The interpretation centre was excellent. The bird hide was an interesting visitor attraction, and we saw the marsh harrier.

At the time there was no charge and the walks were very sfae and interesting. At certain points you can see the ducks and other feathered visitors, many wading on a shallow island, some perched on poles and swimming within the reeds, all in all, combined with a pleasant centre, a very pleasant time was had by all, including the...
