Very beautiful and accessible. The paintings and decorations are really overwhelming in comparison to St. Stephan and St Michaels

This church is in the city center and is undergoing some renovations but is absolutely stunning inside.
On a selg-guided waling tour of Vienna, we were walking down the Graben. This is a really neat street with lots of nice shops, restaurants and sights. We popped into St. Peter's Church because we had read in Rick Steves's travel guide that this is an extraordinary example of Baroque architecture. Was he right! It is so packed with gilded...

we enjoyed the organ music at 3pm, the organist received a warm applause from a full church; we admired the rich pieces of art, really a miniature of the St Peterschurch in Rome
Really nice church and much smaller than St. Stephen's (right down the street). You'd think the inside would be simple because of the simple exterior, however, they fit a lot into a small space!! Be aware that they still have services that happen so if you walk in while there's one going on, be kind and don't interrupt!! Take some...

We found this church better than St. Stephen's as it was quieter and also felt that it was better lit up. The dome is very impressive and some of the sculptures on the walls are very ornate and make for very good viewing. The only small blemish was that the exterior is being repaired right now so not much for...

This 18th century Baroque church is situated right in the heart of the main sights of Vienna, so it is worth a visit to see the ornately detailed altars and dome as you make your way about the area. The richly decorated dome is simply breathtaking. We visited during the day and again in the evening, and by evening the...

Church had free organ music recital in the evening. The musical selection were a little dirge-like and the bench/pew seemed to slant forward (forcing supplicants to kneel?) The church itself is gorgeous.
There are far better in Europe but when in the center of Vienna it's worth walking through. The did a tasteful job of replacing what I would guess were bombed out stained glass windows.
