I only had time to duck into the MQ to walk around the square and grab a bier and snack at a cafe table (picture attached). So I didn't visit any of the museums… yet! I especially wanted to see the mumok (Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien) to experience the modern art collection. When I asked European friends where... More

Leopold museum have masterpieces, but rests not accepted in Parisien mouseums. Some exibitions are only installed to fill up the space. Who can consider various LP wraps as artistic exposition? Some paints and sculptures are really discutable. Impressionism or whatever, but not fine art. Klimt major works are copies because originals had been destroyed in 1945.

At the Leopold Museum was the Warhol's Clouds - divine - lie down to enjoy it at it's best - parents please control your children however.

This one certainly comes to life in the summer. Outdoor seating, plenty of cafes/bars tp suit your fancy. And of course the museums! Modern Art, classic collections at the Leopold and the Viennese centre for Architecture!!

If you are into museums, this is the place to go. We only went to the museum of modern art, which was rather crazy, even for someone who really doesnt get into the art scene. Also some nice cafes in the area to just hang out for a while.

I liked the architecture, relaxed atmosphere, caffe's there, people of all kind. There is also a store with old video games (over 30 years old), which is a "must-see" with all the originals and oldies-fans memorabilia.

It has a few nice museums to visit, but the main attraction is the area itself, imo. A great place to socialise, drink something, eat lightly, sit back and relax or even play and to simply feel Vienna, entirely different of walking through the crowded madness in Stephansplatz or on its' adjacent capitalism-at-its-worst shopping streets. It even offers free wifi... More
