It is a tranquil place on a mountain slope. The monastery is really small and calm. I've spent some time just seating there and enjoying the view and felt recharged and refreshed.

We visited in September 2011 and it was quite a small monestry but was very nice and quiet. Nothing was out of place, there was a couple of stalls outside and one in perticular was selling grapes they were amazing. Definitely a place to have a look round :)

This is a wonderful monastery, and well worth the drive from Limassol or Paphos. The amount of gold, is amazing, and makes it well worth a visit. There is a lovely sense of peace and serenity in and around the monastery.

Discard your image of an English monastery when you pull up here and immerse yourself in the peace and devotion that oozes from this place (at least in February). Agios Elias wine made here is excellent and the view is to die for. I just wish I understood more about Orthodox worship. Oh well; that's a project for the future.

I'd planned to do this monastery on way back from Troodos and Kyykos but run out of time so drove up one other morning - in itself maybe not worth the 40 min drive each way but if you time manage better than I did and stop off en route to some of the other attractions then it is worth... More

again peace and tranquility come togther to feed the soul plus it also sports a good winery next to it which the Abbot has been a keen supporter and dedicated winemaker...great chandeliers in the church very kitsch!
