It's free; there are good facilities nearby; the waterfall is absolutely amazing; take care walking down to the lower viewing platform. In Iceland, Health and Safety hasn't gone mad so be especially careful with children.

Worth a view, but very busy (as expected). There is a chance to get fairly close to the waterfall, but I would recommend wearing waterproofs as the spray is like it is raining.

There are much more charming and pretty waterfalls on Iceland (Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss and Svartifoss come to mind), but this is certainly impressive in its way. Certainly worth a stop if you're passing by, but personally I wouldn't make the trip just to see this waterfall.

What a wonderful waterfall. Sometimes you're sold a trip on the basis of a waterfall and it turns out to be a tiddle, but Gulfoss is huge. I've read a review that says it's not Niagara. Well it isn't, but it is big and it is splendidly beautiful, and there are plenty of access points to view it from.

This makes a wonderful excursion and the waterfall itself is very picturesque, especially as you approach. It is well worth the visit and 1.5 hours stay would be ideal

Very impressive waterfall at this time of year, with a very large flow of water (my wife saw it a few years ago in November when it was impressive in another way, as the whole waterfall had frozen...). You get a good view from the top path, but it's well worth the walk along the lower path to the viewpoint... More

If you have never seen a powerful waterfall up close, then this will be impressive to you. It is multitiered and thunderous, but that is all. Good photos are hard to get because of it's shape.

A very impressive waterfall, or more accurately, a series of impressive waterfalls. Walk and climb to several levels to view them from different viewpoints. Be advised that winds can be severe enough to interfere with walking, and as a result can be chilly even in summer.

This was the second time I visited Gullfoss and it is just incredible. Such a beautiful waterfall and interesting surroundings. I would just rent a car and drive out to see it. It was much better than the tour I went on last year. I was able to spend a lot more time there. It is worth the effort to... More
