My children were admiring. Animal models are made with high carefulness and form some scenes from their life. Bad that descriptions are mainly in Finnish and Sweden.
I think this museum worth a visit if you are a fan of the nature or if you want to go with small children somewhere. It has nothing really special, but the exhibits are very well maintained
When I was a kid, our family visited this place many many times. The two-headed calf was very memorable, as was the boar allegedly shot by the famous president Kekkonen. Visited with my husband and there were a lot to see even for someone like myself who has a MSc in biological sciences. Loved the Namibia exhibition in the temporary exhibitions section, also the History of Life and the Story of Bones permanent exhibitions were interesting. My husband stopped in, and it was a very nice museum, but is definitely meant for children. The admission is 8Eur for adults. Also, some of the exhibits are not in English, so you have to get a headset or a special booklet if you are not an English speaker. These are provided for free.
I enjoyed the visit very much! Learnign about my history as well!
As stuffed animals go the exhibitions are very nice, newly renovated and inspiring. We have visited the museum several times and find always new details and things to study. Reasonably priced and close to the center.
Easy to find and get to with public transport or a short walk. There is a handheld tour available in english were you push a number code associated with the exhibit and a guide explains what you are seeing. Exhibits are very nice and the quality of the taxidermy is astounding. The museum is easy to navigate and is very... More
