You must get into the Opera house even if not an Opera fanatic. Lovely inside. Great experience. Shame no public tours at present. Loved it.

Quite a unique building facing the city. You can walk around it which is neat and if you go on a canal / boat ride you go past it. Opening in 2005,
The specific part of the island where the Opera was built is named Dokøen, which means the Dock Island. Just a few meters west of the opera, one...

Love the interior, especially the marveless lights design by Olafur Eliasson. The building was design by Henning Larsen, world famous danish Architect, but The roof is a travasty. The danish billionær Mærsk, wanted the roof so that he and his wife didnt get wet when going from the car into the building. A fatal mistake to have allowed this. But...

We went to an Opera and we took the stand seats. It was not the most confortable thing but the whole experience was nice. The view from the Opera House was very nice to watch the sunset and although it was not very close it was easy to get there by bus.
This building should be separately rated for its exterior and interior looks. The exterior gets a 2.5 star rating at the best. It is dull and the volumes are disproportionate. Not normally an opera goer but as we managed to get cheap tickets to Puccini's Il Trittico on the Monday night of our visit we thought we'd head along. Stunning building on the inside, very well organised too, even though it was virtually a full house it never seemed packed. Nice choice of drinks and snacks in the lobby cafe...

What an amazing structure and opera house. It is lovely inside and the staff were excellent. Great opera as well seeing the original Carmen as Bizet intended
From the outside the building is bulky and not very welcoming. But at the inside you find the cool vestibule with the enourmous chandeliers by Olafur Elliasson. The nxt tep is the actual crown - the theatre - wow what a place. Go and see an opera or a play!!!
Can become overheated in the auditorium, Good performance by local cast. Excellent restaurant (Borgen)
I have been to several opera houses around the world but this pace is fantastic. Beautiful and Scandinavian style at its best. The acoustics are world class. So is the view of the harbour. Don't come to Copenhagen without visiting the opera house - it is a must!
