As Thessaloniki has very rich history, you can see it in the museum. First I would recommend to visit Archaeological Museum, when this. It has very interesting exposition halls arrangement. The museum has great collection of exhibits, which start from pieces of ancient columns and finish with icons and byzantine coins.
excellent history ,great artifacts. right in the heart of the city, the price is good too.if you have time get a ticket for both muesems.its a little tiring but you get a better price
