There was no lateral protection to walk in the stairs. The acropolis of Rhodes has a fantastic view of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Acropolis offers very good views down over Lindos and the surrounding area. It can get busy up there so get up early to beat the masses and enjoy the Acropolis while it is still relatively quiet.

Great to see the ruins of the temple, the stadium and the ampitheatre - also the small exhibition close by in the old gynasium. Photography of the ruins was spoiled by lots of groups of school children though!

Yet another beautiful piece of history that Rhodes has to offer! Here you get to see the stadium, theatre and the ruins of the temple of Apollo. If you do enjoy sightseeing I highly recommend you take some time to visit these ruins! :)

Incredible is the only word I can think for this place. We also went down to the beach as it would seem like such a shame not to or not to swim in the picturesque waters! We jumped in from the boardwalk and climbed back out from the rocks but the whole day was pretty amazing. Should have gone there... More

The location is really nice, the sea view from the very top of the hill is stunning..Though I expected more things in the museum next to Acropolis. .We were too lazy to walk, and on that day there was a bus strike, so we took a taxi to the top of the hill.

Often in the shadow of the acropolis in Lindos, Rhodes acropolis is a little quieter. Set on a hill on the outskirts of the town, it boasts stunning views and has an ancient ampitheatre as well as a small, modern recreation - and it's free! If you like your history and ruins it's worth a look. We walked from the... More

Though not as famous as the Acropolis of Athens, Acropolis of Rhodes too must have been grand if the ruins and remains of once majestic temples, stadium , theater are anything to go by! The buildings or the remains of them on the Acropolis date back to the Hellenistic period(3rd-2nd c. BC). The excavations were carried out in the early... More
