Absolute stunning beach. Nice and calm but be warned there is quite a steep drop off in the shallows. Water is not clear, giving the milky blue look, this is because of the very fine sand particles but still a very fine beach and the water is very clean. There are umbrellas and chairs to rent. Chairs are free if... More

Fantastic beach and turquoise sea. Thoroughly recommend a visit here. Plenty of space & quite. A nice bar service fantastic local beer and, of course, rum in many flavours

Fell in love with this beach on my first visit in 2007. Six years later and it is still top ranking for me. Not much has changed except for the Nest bar which has opened at the north end of the beach. It wasn't crowded when we visited either time and is great for a quiet afternoon at the beach.

On April 27, 2013 we docked at St John, Antigua from 7:00am-5:00pm. We had a nice beach day at Valley Church Beach. We took a taxi with 4 other people. [$32 for 1-3 or $8 pp] There is only one restaurant here, The Nest. It sells food/drinks and has restrooms. They rent chairs [$5pp] and umbrellas [$10] We rented two... More

The beach is very nice, the water is warm, but a little cloudy...but still very turquoise blue. The restaurant and facilities are nice, and everyone that worked at the beach was super friendly!

We visited this beach purely by chance having been on the Thomson Dream cruise ship 14-26 Apr 2013.We docked in Antigua for the day and decided over breakfast we would head for a beach via a taxi.So off we set and we were advised by the taxi driver at the port that Valley Church had what we wanted , e.g.... We visiting Valley Church Beach because it was walking distance from where we stayed. It does have nice shade, which is a plus, but the beach itself has a steep dropoff, which makes it difficult to get out of the water. There are vendors that ask you if you want to buy beads, have your hair braided or go out... More

Paradise on earth - but don't drink the rum punch if you hope to walk away from the Nest beach bar (it's great as is the food!)

Wow, our first trip to Antigua and we found paradise on this beach. The view is amazing. Swimming was a great experience. You are very buoyant in this extra salty water. It wasn't too crowded. We were there by 9:00 and had front row chairs and an umbrella for $15 for two of us. The jerk chicken with either salad... More

I LOVED this place. We went during our trip of the island. I asked to have TRADITIONAL Antiguan food. I was brought to The Nest for lunch. I didn't even look at the menu and asked for something that was from Antigua. I had tilapia in a creole sauce, funji with orca and mixed vegetables. OMG!! I was so happy... More
