This museum was a total surprise, given that it's completely free. The building was very interesting from an architectural point of view. The collection and the exhibitions provided food for thought after our boring visit to the monastery and tower of Belem, The cafe was great, too, with a nice view.
A small, but interesting collection and usually a temporary photo exhibition or similar to visit as well. Well worth a visit and the shop is a perfect location to find Portugal-presents to take home. In the same complex you will also find a cultural centre, shops and a nice outdoor restauranta/cafe, with nice views. A perfect opportunity to get some...

Great exhibitions, usually with the adequate size (less risk of getting bored), and the best part - the entrance is free. Also the Museum Shop by itself is where we can find many gifts, some of them exclusive, and many about Portugal.
Large collection of all sorts of whacky art works covering a huge area in massive, modern bunker of a building. Most exhibits are not by well known names -only one tiny Picasso and one Dali sculpture, so a bit disappointing in that respect. Worth a wander in to get out of the sun.

Although half of the exhibitions were on loan to a museum in Miami it's well worth a visit as it's free. Great and weird modern art on display. The actual museum is laid out really well and has great views of the surrounding area from the roof. Definitely worth a visit if it's raining and you have a spare hour...

If we had to pay for entrance to the Berardo Museum I would have been very angry that the expected works of art by the big name artists such as Warhol, Bacon and Rothko were absent, replaced by lesser know works by Portuguese artists of the 20th Century, As it was, a museum attendent warned me as I was about...

And is free... The collection is huge and always changing. Very well presented and well explained. Located close to a series of other monuments of interest.
