Parque das Nações is the area of the Expo98 The World Exhibition. Besides the residential area, you will find lots of restaurants near Tagus River, Gardens, National and International Fairs, the amazing Vasco da Gama shopping and many other spots that you will love. It´s usual to see friends and families just walking or making activities on the garden, specially... More

This place is amazing! From the restaurants near the river, from the mall and the train station, it's all contemporary architecture. Go for a walk near the river and have a nice zen moment. No night scene though

You guessed it - I'm talking about Vasco da Gama bridge over the Lisbon Tejo river. The longest in Europe. Almost 18 km long. We almost decided to stay in Myriad Sana hotel which is attached to Vasco da Gama tower (closed to visit from the top), but the conference was held there and they hosted 1500 people nearby. Metro... The contrast between the modern buildings surrounding the park and the beautiful old architecture of downtown Lisbon is striking. Whether you come to go to the Science Museum, the Oceanarium or just for a beautiful walk, this is a place not to be missed if you are coming to Lisbon.

Other reviewers have described this as rather soulless and I think I know what they mean. However, I would recommend a visit to view the bridge, walk the boardwalk over the water, ride the cable car and visit the excellent Vasco da Gama shopping centre.

We ended up here 2 days of our trip. It is very modern and defitnetly somewhere a LOT of money was spent. I've already reviewed the Oceanarium and Science Museum. We also rode the Cable car which was a nice way to get some photos. We waited until the 2nd day as the weather didn't co-operate the first day. If... More

We stayed here at the Hotel Olissippo Oriente for our first 2 nights in Portugal. Having visited Lisbon before, we liked the idea of staying in an area with its own attractions along the waterfront, with easy links from the Oriente Metro station to Lisbon centre but without the noise and hassle. It proved to be a great idea, the... More

we had a couple of hours to kill before the train from Lisboa Oriente to Faro so took a wander through the Vasco da Gama shopping centre, not worth a pause, and out to the Parque das Nacoes. The time passed well enough as we strolled along, took a few snaps and had a light lunch watching the world go... More

This area is huge with beautiful buildings right by the sea side. Quite worth a visit. The bus city tour makes an entire round there.
