Gorgeous town with beautiful beaches. Very laidback and relaxed, and has a totally different vibe to Lisbon. Worth visiting if you get a chance. There's a really good gelato shop which I can't remember the name of, but I'm sure locals would be able to give directions because it is that popular. It's run by an Italian family and often... More

This town is about 30 mins by train from Lisbon. It runs every fifteen minutes and costs around four pounds return. Couple this with a six euro day pass for the metro, trams and buses and you have the bones of a day trip to Lisbon. The town has a huge wealth of affordable restaurants serving fish caught nearby and... More

Great place to visit. You can go by train from Lisbon. Some of the historic beaches, worldwide competitions from surf, tennis, boats. Some restaurants will present you amazing sea food dishes and during summer several music events. Hot in Summer, a lovely place to be a night with families, friends.

I took a Greyline tour to Cascais. It is about 2 hours from Lisbon, but worth the trip. There are beaches, sand dunes, surfing, shops, restaurants, condos, and hotels. The next time I visit Portugal I plan to stay in the Cascais area.

We took a day trip out to Cascais during our recent trip to Lisboa. We had a great time strolling along the water and through the shops. The train runs from Lisbon every 20 minutes. Round trip was €4.60.

Cascais is easy to travel to by train from Lisbon and well worth a visit. The fort overlooking the harbour and now converted into an hotel is an amazing piece of architecture.

We drove there from Sintra and had a wonderful time walking around the waterfront, eating lunch, strolling with ice cream!

This is a place I would like to go back to and spend some time. The beaches were beautiful with many restaurants along the boardwalk. So many streets to explore.

We spent there whole day and enjoyed even that most of the Cascais seaside is rocky so it's impossible to swim in the sea.Whoever is going to spend a day there I'd advise to rent a bike or motorbike so you could admire wider stoning coastline.

Great history with shopping and beaches, you can watch the fisherman go out in the morning and sunbathe all day.
