The Musee des Beaux Arts has the more complete and varied representations of this famed artists works. For an introduction and a working biography of the painter's life, this is quite good.

The museum was ok,it is very difficult to understand that type of art if you have normal state of mind and don't have major psychiological problems.

Take audio tour or it will be boring. I know a lot about art, but if Magritte is not familiar to you, try to read about this artist before you visit the museum

Nowhere have I seen a museum more lovingly curate the work of a single artist. That Rene Magritte is a favorite son of Brussels is palpable in this detailed exploration of his work. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. A few cautions, though: -- This is a full-throated exploration of a single surrealist painter's work. You don't have to be a serious... More

Amazing collection of the Flemish masters. Lots of Brughuel, some great Rubenses, and a host of 16th to 19th century artists.

This is a museum of Magritte, a famous Belgian surrealist painter. As exotic as the world of surrealism, you better well-equipped and read/know a bit about Magritte to enjoy this museum. Audio guide is provided with additional cost. :( You better have it, because this is a serious museum, and many Magritte paintings are better explained if you have the... More

If you like Magritte, this museum is for you. There are several floors of paintings in chronological order with a nice explanation. However, there are none of the most famous paintings!

Only found out about this museum housed in Magritte's modest town house in the suburbs of Brussels when I came across a leaflet on an antique stall! A much more intimate and personal view of the artist, with artefacts from his early and commercial career including advertising campaigns, music score covers and posters. Well worth a visit in preference to... More

Interesting work. Relatively small and quick museum. You can get a combined ticket with the Museum of Modern and Ancient Art. They are all connected. We went during the week so the galleries were filled with school groups which made it hard to see some of the work but otherwise it was a nice museum.
