Great zoo in the middle of Amsterdam. saw everything from Crickets to Elephants, our 4 year old loved it.
Small zoo compared to major cities but worthwhile to spend a couple of hours. You'll have a reason to visit another neighborhood in Amsterdam. If you are travelling with kids, definately worth a visit. Nice pubs in neighborhood for lunch and/or drinks.
We had such a great time! I must admit I was a bit hesitant at first, after reading some previous reviews about this site, but I'm so glad I didn't let that discourage me from visiting. I don't know what the other reviewer's standards are, but for us this was a perfectly beautiful and exciting zoo, with so many hidden... More
We spend as couple, 4 hours at the zoo. The price seemed high at first, but after I realized this Aquarium features butterflies and insects we made an excellent choice when we got there. Highly recommended. One of the stunning zoos we visited them in Europe.
This zoo is good if you are not to concerned about animal welfare, it is completely different to British zoo's I.e the cages and enclosures are very small compared to the UK, the aquarium tanks are surely illegal but saying that you did get to be up close to the animals! The cafe is reasonabley priced and the entrance fee... More
The highlights of our trip to the zoo were the elephants and giraffes which were being fed and cleaned during our afternoon visit.I was also impressed by the cross section of an Amsterdam canal scene in the aquarium and was not aware that the canals were home to so many different types of fish.
Easy to get to but try and buy your tickets beforehand as the ticket office queue can be slow. Once in there all the animals you care to see. Cafes and bars great and lots of places to sit and watch the world go by. Some of the enclosures seem little small for the size of animals in them but... More
Great place to go and there is so much to see. From the butterfly house to aquarium to reptile house and all the animals outside. Could easily spend around 3 hours there. Was almost too much things to see!!!! Overall great activity to do and you are able to get some good photos of the animals up close. My favourite... More
I visit this zoo every time I visit Amsterdam. It's huge and you need all day to see it all but there are plenty of eating places and lots of seating in the grounds so although there's a lot of zoo to get round it's not tiring and constant walking. It's a shame to have animals in zoos but this... More
