No idea why people like this street, or even think it's "posh". I reckon it just hits the sweet spot for middle-of-the-road poseurs who like to feel good about spending way too much for nothing special.

Stayed in a hotel here, perfect for visiting all the museums and five minutes away from leiden square, with a lot of bars and restaurants around.

Ya there's a bunch of designer shops on a one-block strip of city, but whatever, not that interesting. It's the one street in Amsterdam where you feel like you're in practically any other big city on their street with fancy shops. Although people watching here can be rather amusing.

What can I say, it's the best place to spend your money in Amsterdam. Here you will find the the typical shops like Burberry, Chanel, Paul Smith, Cartier, ... But it isn't like other luxury shopping streets such as Bond Street, 5th Avenue, Königsallee, ... The P.C. Hoofstraat doesn't have the exclusive feel that you will find in other high... More

There are shops, expensive shops. Seen one, seen them everywhere. It is not exceptional, it is a bit provincial compared to, say Paris. Maybe that is a certain charm in itself.

For the shopaholics - the PC is the most expensive shopping street in Amsterdam. You will find Chanel, Louis Vuitton and the other exclusive brands in this street. The PC is not located in the centre of Amsterdam but just off.

All the big names here - Tiffany, Cartier. Interesting to window shop. A quiet and pleasant street with a couple of nice cafes/bars to take a refreshment break before moving on to the nearby museums.

Title says it all, if you do not like pricy shopping you better stay away! ...the only thing you can do but shopping is staring at the rich and famous and wonder .... You might run into a few TV celebrities or actors or just people who love to be seen and stared (but not to be photographed!) I have... More
