The old town center has all the famous Bern sites (clock, etc). It's easy to forget you are in the country's capital while walking the streets and promenades since the vibe is very relaxed.

Strolling the streets and visiting the delightful shops is so very relaxing and fun. Bern is brimming over with vistas and delightful architecture. The history packed in these few streets is simply amazing!

I really loved walking around the old town, particularly charming as it was covered in snow. There was an excellent market on when I was there as well as some very talented street performers. They've achieved in Bern what so many European cities have failed to do - modernisation without an ounce of character lost. Bring your camera.
