Its a must see place in Florence, the arcitecture is splendid with the black and white marble. Truly one of a kind place! And not to mention the beatiful paintings by Raphael and others. Entrance to the cathedral is free, but there is a fee to climb up the tower.

Dress accordingly, get there early and you shouldn't wait to long. You can take pictures which is not common in a church in Italy. Well worth the visit.

The interior is large and, to that extent, impressive but there's not too much else to be said for it. Don't worry if you don't have time to look at it. But the exterior is astonishing. They have cleaned the marble to about one-third of the way round but walk all round anyway.

The view from the top of the Cathedral dome is only surpassed by that fro Pazzal Michelangelo. You need to have a good set of lungs and legs if you can get a clear run to the top. Wise move is to get to the top fast and first, admire the interior view on the way down. On the day... More

Free entry. The exzterior is amazing, but dates only the the 1860s. The interior is cavernous, and quite plain.

You wont believe your eyes when you see it closely. Everything has perfect details. I was there with a local and the stories about the cathedral was so unforgettable. When you learn them, you will look at the building so differently knowing something about it. Try to learn the stories of angels which are on the main entrance and also... More

If you can climb the 463 steps to the top then don't turn this one down. The views over Florence were stupendous and the climb through the inner and outer skin of the dome was pretty interesting too!

The outside of this church is extremely impressive, the sculptures and paintings are magnificent. It is free to go inside, with a small cost to see the old relics from ancient times which are downstairs.

Yes another Italian church with amazing history. Give yourself about 30 minutes and move on. You can get the audio guide if you wish for 3 euro, but download a guide and do it yourself.

The lines during the summer are long and there's a reason why: this duomo is amazing. I actually climbed up to the top of the duomo and the view was breathtaking. Florence from the rooftop is so picturesque! If you plan accordingly, you can climb the duomo in the morning if you get there before the ticket office is open... More
