We were very disappointed by this market - not sure if we visited too late but most of the stalls were closed. Maybe we just had a bad experience but don't plan your day around this visit - rather just peek in should you be in the neighbourhood.

A market nicely and neatly organized with lots of stalls selling meat, cheese, porcini, pasta, ham, salami as well as some stalls offering excellent cappucino, local food, cheap, easy, simple and tasty! If you are looking for some Italian souvenirs apart from leather goods or luxury but something offering a share of your Italian memory, go here and you won't...

Great place to see, feel and taste Italy.
Fresh food, cheeses, spices, meats, breads, flowers, you name it, it's there. A lot of weird things too, cow tongues and intestines, livers and kidneys, pig heads, etc. Interesting place, worth a visit.
There are a few eateries inside, tried the one with pastas and it was just OK. Some offered tripe...

Cured meats, cheeses, biscotti, seasonal fruits and vegetables, fish, fresh pasta, reasonably priced espresso, wine, etc. Most of the vendors are extremely pleasant while a few look annoyed that you...

This market was a lot of fun to walk through. Some prepared foods--you can get lunch. Mostly meats, cheeses, oils, vinegars, fruit, vegetables, wines, etc. The market is not open on Sundays.
So different from so much that we saw but this was definitely a fun place to visit. Oh the cheeses, meats and such that the individual markets are selling here!! It is impossible to resist sampling and buying. The meats and cheeses can be vacuum sealed to take home as well (our purchases didn't last long enough to take home...

We love going here to pick up fresh food for our house in Umbria or maybe some gifts for back home in the states. We love to go around taste and see what is good. Everything under one roof. Wine, food, flowers, seafood, meat,etc.. Just never ending stimulation to the senses.
We walked around the Central Market and discovered a gem selling quality organic olive oil, vinegar (aceto balsamico di modena) and honey. The owners, the old Italian man and a younger Italian man, are very friendly and patient. They introduced their products and offered us to try them. The olive oil, vinegar and honey (for pairing with cheese) tasted better...

We bought nearly all our produce here during our 10 day visit to Florence met some very friendly people selling here free habernero from young stall holder knowing we were from NZ. The sellers like you to at least try to Parlo Italiano, I managed enough to be able to buy pomodoro (tomato) and not an artichoke or chicken. Great...
