Tried to have a look around on a Monday. We went in as a group were leaving, so thought it would be OK as no service was in progress, but a man who was obviously rather cross addressed us in a torrent of Italian which we were unable to understand, and as we had no idea what the problem was... More

Next to it is a great focacceria to treat yourself to real sicilian food, arancini and the popular 'milsa'. You will return for more!

This is a beautiful old church, damanged in the War, and partially restored. We can only imagine at what it would have been like before the bombs. You are entering the oldest parts of Palermo around here, just a short distance from la Vucceria to one side, or la Kalsa to the other.

Here you must admire the Gagini Vanities amongst the other beautiful architecture to be admired. Cool and ancient stones set the quiet scene for this Church with a most colourful history.

This is not just another basilica in Italy. Besides being a major point of Christian pilgrimage in Italy and an UNESCO World Heritage location, it is a beautiful Romanesque Gothic structure with some very famous works of art inside, some of which are steeped in mystery (take note all you Code-ophiles). Even if you think you are weary if churches,... More
