Purchase the water bus tickets for your visit in Venice - it's the most affordable way to see all corners of this amazing city. Hop on, hop off all day long with no restrictions.

The Grand Canal is just as fun to watch as the small canals. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a terrace on the juncture of 2 canals and enjoyed the quiet Italian life as well as the busy Grand Canal. It's quite fun to ride the vaporettos all around. We bought a 3 day pass as other Trip... More

Can get a little crowded with the main tourist mobs but it is still certainly worth the visit. The buildings on the bridges are something to see and there are quite a few great little resturants along the walk.

Don't pay for a private tour, take the number 2 water bus, it does a round trip in around an hour. Get on at Rialto as the bus is usually empty here! Go to the small outdoor seating area at the back for the best views and photos.

No road rage here...so many boats, an experience not to be missed... Make sure you travel our of the rush hours or you could be a bit squashed!

At the Monaco Hotel, this restaurant has great food, reasonable prices compared to other hotels, such a great view on the canal and professional gracious service. I have visited Venice many times, gone to a number of restaurants and I am now a committed regular here. It’s not to be missed. I will always return.

The name Grand pretty much says it all, the richest people in Venice had their Palazzos along this canal. There is a movie called "Dangerous Beauty" - which is racy because it is a story about the end of the age of the courtesans - it is a true story of Marco Venier & Veronica Franco - his palace is... Especially when children are a part of the group, suggest that their price is too elevated to bare when you have a big family to maintain. Negociate your price and go early, before the masses of tourists are leaving their hotels. A pitty that sometimes in the side canales garbadge floats arround.

Definitely a highlight of any visit to Venice. Given the crowded vaporettos, the best time to cruise it is early in the morning or later in the evening. The atmosphere the Canal Grande provides is overwhelming as is the amount of nice palaces and side canals passing by. It lets the visitor dream of the time Venice has been a... More
