We bought the City Pass and this was included. We tried to see as many places as possible. This was relaxing and would be a good stop for kids.
If you like to see an aquarium as they looked like at their beginning, the go to Trieste and visit it. At the first floor the tanks contains typical fish of the Gulf. The water is also pumped directly from the sea with no filtering and (as the guide said) all the fish are still "saved" from the fish market... More
this is a very small aquarium, and cheap (3 euro for students, 4.5 for adults) where some fish species are kept in usually too-small tanks. There are good explanations in Italian and English but the fish part looks quite sad The top floor, with reptiles (mostly snakes) and some amphibians is better, better conditions for the animals and better display... You will see more fish in a restaurant.Even if not expensive theese are money thrown in the bin.Only sea bass...sea bream and lobster...soooooo sad...no more Pinguins...really bad
This place is an torture cabinet for helpless creatures. You will see fish in there where the inscription says it is 80-100 cm in length - but the tank covers a surface of only about 60x60 cm. Or a turtle in a tank of 1.5 m length with no hiding place that spends all day going from left to right... More
