We didn't know what to expect, when we were looking for a place to go to Mass yesterday. We stumbled upon this church, and it was beautiful! It's not as ornate as other churches in Rome, so it seems more humble (while still a very large church). They offer a Spanish Mass on Sundays at 7pm.

We're on day 4 of 5 and have seen some 20 or 30 churches now. Aside from St Peters in the Vatican, this is my favourite of the lot. You really don't expect it to look the way it does from the front entrance! If you only visit a couple of churches during your stay, make this one of them.

When you pass by you do not notice this church because the front is very unusual and is part of a historic building, part of the Baths of Diocletian. However the interior surprises because there is plenty of beauty and art in the church.

Nothing much on the outside but a real treat inside, especially when you read some of the history. If you are very early for your train, then this Basilica is a must see!

The church I was least impressed with on my trip. Despite its size and a dome by MichaelAngelo it was rather uninspiring for me.

Blocks from Termini Station, at large square, very easy to pass by. We were killing time till our train left and went in. Awesome, large church with a spectacular pipe organ (luckily we got to hear it played) which sent chills up my spine. Also a meridian clock that's not to be missed. Add this to your itinerary if you're... More

Wandered into the church on way to Repubblica... doesn't look too much on the outside, but when you go in...WOW. Tiled floors beautiful paintings and lots of history. You can light a candle if you wish ( pay 25-50 cents). Enjoyed it so much we returned for a second visit!

Standing on the roundabout (Repubblica Metro) minutes from the termini, the outside façade matches the ruins of the adjacent (and partial incorporated) largest Roman baths. Yet walk inside and you'll see one of (what seemed) the largest spaces forming a church in the area. Additionally there is an interesting sun clock 'The Meridian Line' which you'd think more at home... More

I enjoyed how science was incorporated into this church. For instance, the meridian on the floor was interesting . In addition it was vast and beautiful like most churches in Rome I would highly recommend.

built upon the remnants of the baths of diocletian. this church was designed by michaelangelo. there was gregorian chanting (recorded) that fit the atmosphere perfectly. there is a meridian line with a tiny aperture in a corner of the builing that allows in sunlight, and on noon of a sunny day, the beam of light will indicate the correct date,...
