We traveled to Sorrento for Christmas, 2011. As a family of 4 with two older children, I thought it would be fun to have everyone learn some Italian holiday cooking. We spent 4 hours cooking at Mami Camilla's on Christmas Eve followed by a lovely evening sharing food with Chef Longo's family and those individuals staying at Mami Camilla's B... More

This was time well spent. Camilla passed on a lot of information and was very good at making herself understood. Part of it was hands on, part was demonstration, but there was enough hands on and we were close enough to the action to profit from it all. It is costly, though. The free cookbook needs some work. Traveled to Italy with our 17 year old daughter and decided to try a cooking class. We are more of the basic bbq and grilled veggie kind of people but we thought we would give it a try. We had such a great time making a very elaborate dinner from scratch. We will probably never make pasta from scratch again... More

I am so glad my two freinds and I stayed here while visiting Sorrento! Its a quaint, lovely home from home, where you are guaranteed to be greated with a smile a comfy bed, lovely room and the most amazing food! A short walk into the centre, you can experience all the coast and town has to offer, without feeling... More

This was my third trip to Mami Camilla my first trip was spent taking the 30 day intensive cooking course.a gift from my wife. It was the most fun I have ever had and the family and friends are great! The second trip was with my wife for pleasure but Chef Ago asked me if I wanted to cook of... More

We booked a week to stay and take cooking classes at mami camilla last fall and it was a disaster. We checked in mid afternoon and were shown to a room with very little furniture, a terrible bath and a smell that I could not place. We left and checked into a hotel in the town itself. (a side note.... More

I miss Italy a lot and hope to some day come back and visit especially to Mami Camilla! Mami Camilla was beneficial to my career. I am currently working in downtown Atlanta, Ga. next to a Neopolitan Pizza chef (Antonio). We talk daily about Italy and also compare recipes we both brought from Italy. We recently just came up with... More

Our trip to Sorrento would have been complete without our cooking school experience. Our lesson was around 100 euro a person and went for around four hours. A multi-course Italian meal was prepared with explanations given and we participated in making biscuits, kneading pasta etc. We each received an apron and cooking book. The participants included long term culinary students,... More

We were three couples who purchased the week long cooking/cultural program through Mama Margaret Italian Cooking Vacations. Mami Camilla's was described as a three-star property which it definitely is not. The "gardens" are non-existent although their website describes them as lush, fertile grounds producing their own vegetables. There is a patch of weeds beside the outdoor dining area where hungry... Our experience at Mami Camilla's was welcoming - given the 'stand-offishness' that we had experienced at our other stays in Italy. The staff and family were cordial and the environment was set up to stimulate communication with other guests - particularly over the communal breakfasts and dinners. Even as non-participants in the cooking school we still felt part of the... More
