If you are in madrid for a few days, you cannot leave without visiting the prado first. It has one of the largest collectionof spanish painters. You will need more than one day to see it all, but even if you have only a few hours, just go and visit what you can. It is really worth the visit!

You must visit Prado, it's a whole day of walking and seeing masterpieces of art...the cafe was reasonably priced and free wifi which was welcome......only complaint there are not enough seats to use...there is a lot of walking involved and after a few hours we were hanging out to find a bench to sit on

The Prado has the mos extensive, far ranging collection of masterpieces of the Madrid museums. If you can, do it in two days, split the time spent there because to try to see everything in one day can be a bit overwhelming, and not give the masterpieces their due. There are so many great works here, any art buff, even... More

Great to see but go when it's free on Saturday. We are not art lovers but it was great veto see such masterpieces.

The Prado has more great paintings than we could digest in a single day, so we'll have to go back a second day. If you have a limited budget and a flexible schedule, check their website for times when they offer free admission.

This museum deserves days, not hours! There are so many different masterpieces to see. One can be touristy and check them all off the museum pamphlet or one can just sit back and enjoy a few of the ones that speak to you. Entry fee is Euro15/each but worth it!

This museum is nice if you know about art history. I would really advice to take the audio guide otherwise you won't understand anything about what you see. I prefered the Reina Sofia though.

Spectacular museum. (A tiny complaint -- the signage is very poor, so finding the right rooms can mean walking endlessly ...)

A half day is just not enough to really appreciate all that the Prado has to offer. The layout is sometimes confusing and I'm sure we missed some sections. But it was great to see so many great works of art. And we will return some day to see more.
