Fantastic trip .brilliant views. Very magical place, and we would highly recommend it. We went with Thomas Cook and also stopped at Garachico and Icod de las Vinos. Only down side was that we only had 40 minutes at Masca.

Why is Tenerife the 2013 number 1 travelers choice island? Because it's a bend of ocean, beaches, mountain (in this case a volcano!, 3718 meters tall), wildlife parks, amusement parks, great clubs, fine restaurants, and also beautiful villages. The emblematic mountain village is called Masca. It is a top attraction, hard to reach because of the road through the gorge,...

Though now very commercialised, a visit to Masca is high on the list of places to see down this end of the island. Nightmare single track road makes it best to visit early or late in the day. An early visit gives the best experience as the sun comes over surrounding mountainous cliffs and the water taxi back to los...

great experience. we took a guided tour and pleased we did, all 3 guides were full of knowledge. they kept you informed on every aspect of the walk from the plant life to the rock formations. the walk itself was hard and not for the faint hearted due to the boulder climbing and some of the sheer drops. the guides...

The village of Masca is nestled in the remote Teno mountains. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Masca from the south coast and the final part of the journey involves a hair-raising drive along a narrow mountain road with extreme hairpins, but in fairness everyone treats this road and other drivers with respect.
The village of Masca is very...

This valley/gorge is lovely. I was so glad that I made the decision to go here. I have to mention that I went with an excursion - and I was glad I didn't go on my own (together with my friend)
First of all the guides are lovely, they know a lot, they make jokes so the whole experience is...

Difficult walk but work all the effort. Should wear proper walking boots due to terrain. It takes between 2 and 4 hours to complete and you should make sure you have booked a water taxi to pick you up on completion.
takes some time to get up here but its worth it the view is fab and the story of it being a pirate hideaway is good aswell. if you are of the faint heart on difficult roads then be warnred i loved it but others were screaming, it was like being in a top gear challenge going up the switchback...

I know some people do this trekking without guides but we were extremely happy to have chosen a guided tour. The trip up to Masca in the bus was great. The scenery is breathtaking and the scandinavian/english/german speaking guides were total professionals. Victor, Hiro and Joe: Big thanks for your knowledge and amazing attitude.
This is quite a rough trekking...

If you like driving serpentine roads and are not afraid of heights, this is your destination. The road is very narrow and requires good nerves of the driver. Since there is a regular bus line, you can experience some interesting meeting situations with buses. Reserve enough time, especially if you drive the whole road from Santiage del Teide to Buenavista...
