Spectacular walk full of charm and scenery, lovely little shops filled with artisan products. Very clean and well kept.
I stayed just off the Carrera del Darro and it made me feel like I was in the heart of the city.
It's a busy street from Plaza Nueva and leading to a nice area situated under the Alhambra. On one side of the road are historic buildings and on the other lots of shops and bars. The shops offer...

If you like to walk and see the sites this is wonderful. Put on your comfortable shoes since the streets are cobblestones, there are also sidewalks but it's a long climb
when walking in this street along the Darro river ( Arabic name: River of Hadda) you pass lots of places from historical places to restaurants. Sitting their at the sunset watching Alhambra is not to miss. If you keep walking, you start to get into the Albyzin.
Our Hotel Zaguan del Darro was on the Carrera del Darro, a narrow street that is 'shared' by pedestrians, taxi's and other brave drivers. People scrunch against walls to let the autos pass.
There are shops, bars, hotels along the street. Near its end, a large outdoor restaurant area, the Plaza de los Trietes lets you relax and enjoy views...

A delightful walk alongside the Darro river.....some lovely houses across the river and building oozing history....well worth the walk with the added reward of some nice restaurants at the end to sit, enjoy some tapas & a cold beer and people watch.
We were lucky enough to be staying at a hotel on this street and its really pretty to walk along as it follows the river Darro and has wonderful views of Alhambra. Lots of nice bars along the route too.
This is a relatively short (2-300 yards) walk along the river and next to the Alhambra. It's charming but not anything spectacular. There are numerous shops (mostly low-end stuff) and restaurants along the way.
People everywhere, lots of places to stop for a drink or a tapas, watch the passing parade or the changing colours of the Alhambra.
