Our hotel was not condusive for at-the-door pick-up, but we met the van at the Christopher Columbus/Queen Isabella statue less than 5 minutes walk away. Violet and Beatriz welcomed us aboard, and we were off to Niguela. Once we arrived near the town, our tour officially began; Beatriz took the four of us English-speakers, and Violet had the Brazilians. We... More

Awesome fun learning all about olive oil and not just how it is made, but also how to buy it, use it, and taste it!

Beatriz and Paco picked us up at our hotel in La Alhambra. The trip to Niguela was cheerful and entertaining. The tour of the ancient oil press was very informative and the olive oil, wine and tapas tasting was plain excellent. We found the price very reasonable, although after the wine tasting we proceeded to spend a bit on all... More

You will not only see a 500 year old grinder and press (actually the oldest one around) but learn the difference between cold press, first press, virgin oil and hundreds of other tidbits about oil production and selection. I will from now on READ the oil bottle labels. The tasting helped us understand the flavors of the different varieties and... More

We loved the olive oil tour and tasting. Beatriz was a fabulous guide. She took us into the groves and explained a lot about how olives grow and the different varieties. We then saw a well preserved manual olive press and she told us the story of this wonderful town. The tour ended with a tasting of olive oils and... More

First of all, I will warn that anyone considering this tour should be prepared to become utterly picky about olive oil. Our guide, Beatrice, was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about all things olives. We enjoyed a tour starting in a grove of olive trees, where we learned how olives were grown and we were offered to eat olives off the... More

As we had a few days in Granada, we wanted a tour to fill some time. I was a little hesitant but very happily surprised. Meeting us in town, our guide, Beatriz and driver took us out to local village. We learnt about olive tree cultivation, grove maintenance (a lot more interesting than it sounds), visited a 15th century oil... More

We booked this tour based on the favorable reviews on this site and enjoyed every minute of it! Our guide was Beatriz, who was delightful and very knowledgeable about olives and olive oil. We did the 3 hour tour with the additional wine tasting, which was a fun way to learn more about the properties of quality olive oil. This... More

We enjoyed the 4 hour Olive Oil Tour. We were picked up near our lodging in Granada and taken to a lovely small town, Nigüelas, where we learned all we could ever need to know about olives and olive oil. We mainly enjoyed learning about tasting olive oil and the different attributes of olive oil. We were immediately transformed into... More

We were met near our hotel in Granada by our driver Pablo who took us on a lovely drive through the countryside to an olive grove. We were then met by our guide Beatrice who was more enthusiastic than one could ever imagine about olives. We learnt how olives are grown (including eating one straight from the tree), how olive...
