Very nice grounds and buildings. Wonderful woodland walks down to The Rhine. Decent cafe and shop, Easy tram ride from the city centre.
Good Place with huge lawans and gardens and the entrance to the palace through the small forest like lawn was good. Entrance into the Palace/Home was 9 Euro. Entrance into the lawns, garden area is free.
The palace features a great park with different theme spots and a few small ponds, even something that quite resembles a forest in the middle of the city. It is really pleasant to take a walk through. Sometimes there are events organized in the park like concerts, etc. The palace itself is nothing quite spectacular but still ok to visit... More
The buildings itself were very unimpressive.. but the huge lawns and then wooded area behind were good.. i would give it a miss cause for one it is quite a way out and then two nothing much to do.. for a outing e.g a picnic with kids would be fun but not for tourists..
There are multiple buildings, large gardens and a pond. This was once what could be called a large manor house and it's associated buildings. There's a pair of museums that are housed on either side of the castle itself, and we toured the natural history museum with it's emphasis on the Rhine watershed with it's flora and fauna. The tour... More
Really enjoyed the scenery and the beautiful gardens. We could've walked a lot more but it started to rain. The coffee shop was pretty but no one would serve us so we tried the Natural Museum. A complete waste of 6 euro. Nothing in English, the displays were amateurish and there were way too many stuffed birds for my liking... More
We took the tour in English and walked around the gardens. Both were thoroughly enjoyable. The grounds around the house were immaculately kept and completely peaceful. There is a gift shop and a cafe on the premises.
Benrath Castle is located on the outskirts of Duesseldorf. If you are visiting on a nice day and have a few hours to spare, it should not be missed. The castle is surrounded by large grounds, nice for a walk. The color is quite unique - it's entirely painted pink and white. The interior is well kept and worth a... More
My review solely concerns the grounds, we didn't take the guided tour. It is free to visit the grounds/gardens, and for this reason if you're on a budget while in Dusseldorf, you should definitely consider a visit here. There is a fee if you want to take the tour of the house. I'm not a gardening aficionado, nor do I... More
We came here on our last day in Germany. We were flying back to the UK from Dusseldorf and we spent the last day in Dusseldorf with our friends who live in Cologne. This is a very pretty place and it is well worth a visit if you have some time. It was very peaceful and the flowers made it... More
