Having done the "tour" of castles around southern Germany we found Nyphenberg nice, but lacking personality. Some nice furnishings, but large vacant areas leave us wanting more...staff are a bit prickly here as well, maybe too many tourists?

This is such a beautiful building also the royal rooms. They have this gallery with paintings of how the palace and grounds used to look like. I love that sort of thing. However, I wish they were more in order and maybe had a description below.
Also they had a 3d model of the schloss. Another great way of seeing...

Don't miss this one!
It was a fantastic day visiting this site, parks and pavilions! We spent the better part of a day there and it was worth every minute. It is beautiful and a stunning lesson in Bavarian royal history. Don't miss the collection of state coaches, sleighs and riding equipment - you won't believe how beautiful these modes...

Saw this while taking one of the bus tours so didn't get a chance to stay very long. It is quite expansive with separate side buildings. It has a great history and I look forward to returning someday to really explore this palace.
The Palace is beautiful. Lovely cafe in the garden I would recommend it. Sitting in the cafe garden with a mug of coffee and a bun.

There is a combination pass that gets you entrance into the main palace as well as all of the other smaller buildings around the gardens and the carriage museum. All of the smaller buildings are stunning...

The building itself is large and much of the interior is jaded but the main entrance was the highlight for me. It was a warm day and the walk in the gardens was delightful. Gardens free but admission charge for the house.
Being able to see the palace was a fantastic experience, and the decorations are very elaborate. The treasury is especially intriguing, with hundreds of amazing pieces. It does take a very long time to walk around the palace, so be prepared to spend several hours wandering around if you are keen to absorb all the history presented by the audio...

We went by tram to the palace grounds in near freezing weather. But the lake in front of the palace had many swans and it looked gorgeous with white snow all around. The tour inside the palace itself was worth the visit, giving a glimpse of history.
