A nice place to go to, great views of the ski slopes both the man made one as well as the natural one. There are some pretty interesting sculptures as well in the place. You would need to anyway stop by here on the way to Partnachlamm Gorge, so might as well spend some time here

To see where the 1936 Wnter Olympics were held is pretty cool! I is much as it was back then. There are ski slopes and a killer sledding slope on the grounds that are worth a try. W don't ski, but the sledding was out of this world fun. Can be dangerous, especially by American standards. Just be prepared to... More

While the stadium is worth a visit, our kids were more excited about the luge across the parking lot. They rode it over and over while my husband and I enjoyed a beer while watching them. We actually enjoyed a couple of trips down the luge ourselves but the kids didn't want to stop. They also had trampoulines with harnesses... More

I spent a few years in Garmisch as a youngster and remember watching ski jumping events here. This time, I was more interested in the history surrounding the 1936 Olympics. Adolf Hitler opened the Olympic games from the balcony at the base of the ski jumps. There is a picture of him and Rudolf Hess. Glad those days are behind... More

The stadium itself is quite deteriorated and looked in need of repair, the ski jumps are world class though, and the restaurant was lively and busy, filled with happy people enjoying the sunshine. We were able to watch some kids practicing their jumps when we were there, which was quite exciting.

Start of the walk up to see the beautiful gorge, and cable car up the mountain, and a summer tobogan ride - good day out.

I have never seem a winter Olympic stadium, but this is expectacular, I love the 1930s feeling and the sky jumping views are breathtaking. If you are around it is worth the visit

We walked out to the Olympiastadion from the centre of Garmisch which took about 20 minutes and we spent Saturday morning watching the young children practicising on the sli slopes and we also had lovely coffee and cakes at the cafe which was really good, well worth a visit before you go to the Gorge.

Pretty impressive to look at and take a picture. No fee to enter and the parking is inexpensive. It was nice to see the stadium at the same time as the gorge, but there weren't any special activities occurring that day.
