visited many times, but always return as views over Villefranche and its harbours are wonderful. Musees always very interesting and varied, and this year there is a beautiful garden below the walls of the fort and an open air theatre.

Lovely view over villefranche and once inside there are several different museums and beautiful gardens. Free admission.
The citadel itself is lovely to see but not worth going for on its own - I didn't go into the museum. The view out to sea, however, is stunning.
Strolling around Villfranche sur Mer, we walked into the fortress and found the wonderful Volti Museum. It is full of brilliant Sculptures cast in bronze and paintings, set in lovely old rooms and courtyards. I shall certainly look out for more work by this Artist.
an unexpected find full of beautiful sculptures so well laid out and touchable which was nice we spent about 1.1/2 hours in this castle and found it a worth while experience
There are four museums in the complex plus the town hall and a congress room. The Musee Volti was a fantastic find. There are many of his works of the female form cast in bronze and they are beautiful. Everything is free and you can touch the figures.
The other museums in the complex are also interesting -Musee Goetz-Boumeester/Christine Boumeester....

There was no charge and there were many interesting things to see in the museum besides walking around the Citadel and looking at the views above the harbor which were spectacular. It was well maintained, easy to...
