It is worth visiting to look at the lovely sculptures that line the walls and the architecture. You can browse the stalls for old postcards, posters and books while you are there.

Impressive and well preserved with a fascinating books and bric a brac market in the central cloisters

If you are in the centre of Lille, I would definitely go into the inner courtyard for a few minutes, or longer, especially if you like buying old books and comics. I was there on Sunday afternoon, so I don't know what it's like during the week. The facade of the building itself is beautiful.
