This home, its contents, and its story made a lasting impression on us. Although about a different family, if you've read the book The Hare with the Amber Eyes this will resonate.

A poignant visit to what was once the fabulous home of a very wealthy Jewish family, and a complete and almost horrifying account of their lives, and the tragedies surrounding the families demise.Well worth a visit. Probably wise to make an afternoon of it and go to the Musee Jacquemart Andre where a fine lunchroom/cafe is available, and located only 5-6... More

Perhaps one of the most surprising and sobering finds among Paris museums. This once, private mansion, provides a glimpse behind the scenes to give a taste of how a small sector of society lived the in the early 20th century. There is a melancholy to this memorial of vast wealth when one considers the sadness of the family's history. Upon his... More

Very interesting place to learn about this unique family and the period that they lived. As a phenomenal bonus, the collection of 18th century art and furniture in this glorious house on the park is magnificent.

I had been to Jacquemart-Andre Museum which is very close by and did not have time to visit this jewel of decorative arts museum. Very glad I made a second trip to the area. BOTH are a must....the collection of furniture and being able to walk through this home will take your breath away! The porcelain room (we should all... More

I personally think this is one of the best museum in Paris that you must go! It's not very big but all the collections are perfect and the tragedy story of the previous owner of this house is very touching.

This is a gem, one of our very best experiences in Paris. The amazing detail on display, from the kitchen, to the social and living quarters, is breath-taking. One needs little imagination to get a sense of the life of the well to do living right on the edge of the Parc Monceau. The family history balances the sweet with... More

This musee was on my list this visit and we enjoyed the history and house. Not crowded at all when we visited. We used the audio for some of the works of art and the kitchen. Sad to look at the photos of the the son and family and know that this family has died out, but the house and... More

A small lesser known museum, this home of an aristocratic Jewish family was a wonderful place to visit. the story is a sad one as mentioned in previous reviews. Located near the Parc Monceau, a visit to both makes for a lovely 1/2 day in this area of the city.

This beautiful home, the residence of a Jewish banking family, is a set-piece of life in the late 19th and early 20 century. The story of the family, the last member of which was taken by the Nazis, is fascinating.
