This is a truly a magnificent building. We really wished we had had the guided tour as looking around you only get a glimpse of the auditorium and no backstage.

The Garnier Opera is one of the most beautiful and easy places to visit in Paris. It's right across the street when you exit the Metro station Opera. I actually attended the Opera there. A great experience. The seats were tiny and uncomfortable compared to what we're used to, but to sit there and look around was an experience I'll...

You must go and try to watch a opera in it. Unfortunately my wife and I couldn't get a ticket since it's fully booked for the whole week. Next time, we need to book the ticket before we go to Paris.

I wasn't lucky to have a guide with us, otherwise, it would be sure that I will appreciate this place more.
After relentless queuing at the Eiffel Tower, Versailles & Louvre it was refreshing to visit this beautiful building. Initially we were just going to view from the outside. A small rear side door where a very helpful & pleasant member of staff advised it was free to visit 'today' (May11). Words can not describe the decor of the building, huge...

The Opera is glorious in it's own right, but our guided tour -- hosted by an English-speaking Dutch woman -- was excellent. It was fascinating-- with lot's of detail about the building, its history and the typical operagoers of the 19th century
My first visit to an opera house and I was not disappointed. This place was really designed for the rich and wealthy of the period. From the grand staircase to the salons leading off, we're you can imagine ladies and gents in their finery sipping champagne while waiting for the performance to start. You get a view of the opera...
