The Louvre is gigantic and the lines to get in are massive. So plan ahead: if you are going to see 3 or more museums look into the Paris Museum Pass. That little pass gets you into a special (shorter) line to enter. We used the Rick Steves podcast to guide us to the highlights of the museum. Be prepared... More

Minimum 2 hour lines at the opening. Six hours to walk to; see the most important art. The museum is difficult to search for specific works. Mona Lisa is not available Wednesday & Friday. The information desk informs the visitor of non-refundable/changeable ticket, after the automated ticket is purchased.

The greatest experience here was seeing Mona Lisa and also visiting all over the Musee du Louvre. Our children had so much fun here and we had a blast seeing everything...

Go find the hiden treasures, not just Mona or Venus. Walk through and find the things that make you stop. My favourites were Lottos Christ Carrying The Cross, in the same room as the Mona Lisa, and the Scribe, in the Egyptian exhibition.

Well worth a visit just to see the Mona Lisa alone, give yourself plenty of time to visit all sections , be aware of the pick pockets at the metro station

Open every day according to the website but when we got there - closed Tuesdays?? Great sights on the outside even. Beware trinket sellers.

It is huge, enormous! And one has to keep it in his mind when planning to go there. But still it is unforgettable! I found Mona Lisa very small and fragile in the middle of the crowd... Venus ..Ancient sculpture, classic art - It is amazing! But it was very interesting and I'd say controversial what was done to ceilings... More

I really loved the building the ceilings and quite a lot of art. But as I already was in Italy, Greece, and Egypt I saw already a lot. There was no joint information or very poor. Mona Lisa was of coarse secured but the glass really needed to be cleaned. To see the Mona Lisa was not at all organized... More
