Loved the prototypes that da Vinci developed and the park surrounding the chateau was very pleasant. Probably even prettier later in the year once things are blooming. A long uphill walk from town so be prepared.

This is no ordinary museum. The gardens alone are worth a visit. There is the usual historical recreation of da Vinci's rooms but there are also many life size recreations of his inventions. Absolutely fascinating.

Despite the hefty entrance fee, this is an interesting mansion to visit and provides a good history lesson on Leonardo da Vinci's inventions and his final years. The expansive gardens are lovely to stroll through on a sunny day.

An imaginative and worthy memorial to the genius that was Leonardo da Vinci. Not only was it interesting to see inside his last home but the parc has working models of Leonardo's great inventions as well as examples of his art works illustrating his knowledge of painting like perspective and shadows. The gardens are, to my mind, more interesting than... More

Something for everyone here - the history, the inventions, the art - has it all. However the playground versions of the inventions are so much fun. Great leap of entertainment.

Some dood mementos of Leonardo's stay. But the graphic demonstrations, and the models, in the garden of some inventions great fun for kids and adults. Not in my guide book but a must see in Amboise.

Leonardo da Vinci came to work for Francois 1st, king of France, at the Loire Chateau. Inside the Chateau you will see his bedroom. From it's window Leonardo saw the Amboise royal palace, where his friend, the king of France, lieve. Another 2 lovely salons with Louis 15th's chairs and tapestry. The basement got 4 rooms with Leonardo's military and... More

Nice castle filled with Da Vinci drawings and models of his invention. I knew he was a genius, but the visit made me discover how much more of a genius he was than I ever knew...

This is a must for all visitors to Amboise, a beautiful memory to Leonardo da Vinci inventive mind and art. The gardens and grounds are as beautiful as the Chateau. Well worth it.
